The GLBA has formatted several generic forms for store members to use as is
or adapt for their own purposes:
Bookstore Event Checklist (pdf)
This is a bookstore event checklist form that member stores are welcome to use as is or to use as a basis for developing their own.
Display Allowance Sheet (pdf)
This is a template for creating your own rates for special displays in your store, which you can then charge back to publishers who provide such coop. Having such a form ready at hand when your rep makes a sales call will facilitate collection of this type of coop.
Cooperative Advertising Request (pdf)
Having your own form for requesting coop (just as you do for invoicing, chargebacks, etc.) will facilitate the process of applying for and collecting coop for the promotions you do. No more waiting for some publisher’s office to mail you a for to initiate the paperwork. Again, presentation of this form to your sales rep will streamline the development of coop eligible promotions and the actual collection of the coop.
Credit Application (pdf)
Keep a supply of up-to-date credit applications available so that when you see a new rep you can expedite the process of opening an account. Remember, publishers will want to see publisher references, not just wholesalers, on your credit application. These ready-made credit applications are useful tools, just like business cards, when you go to the GLBA Trade Show, BEA or Gift Shows as well. |
